Newbies to Watch: Fiona Dixon

NAME/NICKNAME: Fiona Dixon or Fi

WHAT GOT YOU INTO CAMMING?: I was looking into it on my own when I found out my friend, Rosie Tyler, had been thinking of doing it as well. Once we talked about it we decided to do it together. The idea appealed to be much like stripping had always appealed to me, except this was better.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CAMMING?: since June 2014

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CAMMROOM VIBE?: Mostly goofy, with geeky conversation, and a sprinkle of sexy.

FAVOURITE THING TO DO ON CAM?: I enjoy awkward dancing and trying to pole dance

HOBBIES?: i read, play LOL, and am a major tv show/movie buff. do pinterest and tumblr count as a hobby?

LIFE MOTTO?: be the person your dog thinks you are

ANY LAST WORDS?: Dixon, as in Daryl Dixon from the walking dead!

AGE: 21

WHAT GOT YOU INTO CAMMING?: Honestly, I had been seeing a few girls on tumblr and noticed they were extremely beautiful in photos, but kind of riskay. I eventually did my research and found out majority of them were cam models. I didn’t join to make money, but I wanted to see if I was “pretty” enough to be similar to them as lame as that sounds. The cam girls I follow are super inspirational.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CAMMING?:  I started camming in January of this year.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CAMROOM VIBE?: My cam room in my opinion is extremely chill and funny. We don’t really talk about what’s going on in the world. We just like to have a good time.

FAVOURITE THING TO DO ON CAM?: My favorite thing to do on cam is play games with members because they are actually interacting. Even the ones who have just been sitting there usually and not talking. We get them to interact as well!

HOBBIES?: I am extremely busy with school and my day job, so I don’t really have time for hobbies. My puppy Salem and I like to play, reading, drawing, exploring new places, and shopping.

LIFE MOTTO?: Hm, I don’t really have a life motto.. I do live by “If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say it all”.

ANY LAST WORDS?: <3

A Dedication to the Supporters of Sexual Artists'

I feel like every camgirl who runs a blog will eventually make a post of this same nature at one point or another in her blogging lifetime.

There have always been negative postings on twitter, tumblr, the ACF forums, etc regarding camming since the day I joined the cam world. These posts' usually referring to: "slow" times on cam, members not talking/tipping, less room traffic, etc. While I tend to not post about it publicly, I would be lying if I said that these things do not affect me, as well. Just like every other camgirl, I have my slow periods, I have times where it's like pulling teeth to get anybody in my room to talk (sometimes myself included), and there are months where I wonder if I will even make rent.

But despite all of that, there are always members and people of twitter/tumblr who are there to support us. Speaking on behalf of myself and other cam ladies, I am beyond grateful to these people.

So you can only tip me 50 tokens every time you get paid? Fuck it man, that's $2.50 I didn't have before!

Camgirls are like artists'...sexual artists. Sex and art will forever be human necessities. Without art, there is nothing. Without sex, there would be nobody.

In short, I appreciate everyone who finds a way to support our art form. Whether it be re-tweeting, reblogging, tipping, sending "gifts" and giftcards, etc.

This Week's Movies in Review: October 19-25, 2014

This week I chose a tag to conquer on Netflix: Canadian. In the USA, this tag did not exist, so it caught my eye. Even more so when I noticed that there were less than a hundred movies under the tag! Strange. So began my journey into Canadian cinematography.

First Winter (1982): This short little docudrama follows an Irish Gaelic family through their first winter in Canada.
Short and to the point, it shows the hardships that were faced during that time period during the winter. Definitely worth a watch. (4 of 5)

Crowsnest (2012): This flick was directed by Brenton Spencer and written by John Sheppard. It follows a group of friends on what they thought would be a fun camping trip, until they encounter a group of cannibals. This movie is filmed in the "found film" style, as if recorded as a documentary. A fun watch from start to finish, with plenty of gore to quench the soul, if you can ignore the somewhat cheesy acting. (3 of 5)

NotBad (2013): Ok, so I clicked this one because it was super short (30 minutes) and it had neat artwork on the cover. I didn't even bother reading what it was about. Turns out, it's a little documentary following some bikers from Canada on their journey to New Zealand. It's directed by Anthill Films. I'm not much for this sport, but I dug the artwork that they cleverly included throughout the little film. I don't think I can accurately give this a rating….so I won't.

Universe (1960): Wow, this little documentary was so inspiring. It focuses on an observatory in Toronto in 1960, showing how they take pictures of the galaxy. They give a good little overview of all of the planets. More than anything though, the black and white pictures of the planets and galaxy is what reeled me in and kept me watch. Amazing. Absolutely stunning. Kinda hipster-y, if you're into that kinda thing. (4 of 5)

Meltdown (2013): Another documentary. This one gives an in depth look at what really happened in the Fukushima nuclear plant during the 2011 tsunami in Japan. Terrifying to see how easy it is to fuck up an entire city with one little mishap. An interesting watch, with cheesy reenactments. (3.5 of 5)

Skinwalkers (2006): Jesus Christ, man. They always say "don't say anything if you can't say anything nice", so I think I'll take that approach with this one. Just save yourself 2 hours and don't even click on this movie. Don't be fooled by the cool movie poster. (Although it is amusing to see the coach from Goon as a cheesy werewolf.) (0.5 of 5)

The Shrine (2010): A nicely directed little horror film, with decent acting, and an intriguing story. The ending seemed rushed, but otherwise, it was worth the watch! Creepy faces are my weakness, and there were plenty of them to spare in here. (3 of 5)

This Week on the Internet

So like, lots of things happen on the internet. Here are some of those things that caught my attention this week.
THE GOOD

Actual Cannibal, Shia LeBouf. The greatest thing my eyes have seen and my ears have heard in a long, long time. Don't live your life without watching this at least 3 times.

The works of Henrique Oliveira. Visually and mentally stunning.

This gif tho. Ok yea, kissing is kissing whatevs. But holy fuck look at the way he uses them hands. Hello skills. Evan Peters and Emma Roberts. I'm a bit jelly.

THE BAD

There comes a time in every rappers life where he reveals his true kawaii dattebayo nature. Soulja Boy recently reached that peak.

THE UGLY

Wednesday morning I woke up to every other post on Twitter sending out good wishes for the family of the soldier who was shot and killed in Ottawa. Click here if you want to read more about it.

Let's allow the good to outweigh the bad/ugly for now, and leave it at that for this week.
Cupcake out.

Book Review - Montreal Canadiens: Thrilling Stories From Canada's Famous Hockey Franchise

Written by: Jim Barber
Published: 2005, James Lorimer & Company Ltd.
Rating: 5 of 5 stars
Review:
As a fairly new-ish hockey (and Habs) fan, this book almost felt like an essential read. Jim Barber is a master of words.  I have read a ton of sports biographies and stories, none of which were quite as entertaining to read as this one. He gives you reasons to be excited about the players, the team, and the history behind it.

The book focuses on about 7-10 key players throughout the Montreal Canadiens history, as well as giving a short intro as to how they became a team (one of the first 6 in the NHL). A nice little overview for those wanting to delve deeper into their Habs fandom, or for the newbies, like myself.

10/10 would bang. I mean...recommend.

Coming Soon: A Taste of Cupcake

Hi, friends! This blog has been a long time coming, and I'm finally putting it into motion!

Let me start out by explaining what the idea behind "A Taste of Cupcake" really is. No, it's not just some clever blog title that I picked because i'm super hilarious and witty *cough*. Making zine's has been a hobby of mine for many years. As of last week, I've been a cam girl for one year. Now that I know that I want to pursue this for as long as I can, I realized that I need to find more ways to incorporate my other hobbies and passions into camming. My thoughts kept drifting to a zine. It's the perfect concept. It would include pictures, my art, my writings, interviews, etc. Something for everyone, and a perfect outlet for my other hobbies!

In short, "A Taste of Cupcake" is my brain child. I will be creating a monthly magazine to soothe my creative spirit and please my camming (and non-cam!) customers.

This blog will act as a sort of "preview" of the magazine, where I will feature short interviews, daily life posts', updates on the magazine, in addition to anything that I choose to not put in the actual magazine.

I look forward to this creative endeavour, and I hope you guys feel the same!
